 Tips for Cleaning with Botanicals

Placing a few drops of Tea Tree oil on your cleaning sponge will act as a disinfectant and impart a fresh, clean scent to your kitchen and bath.

Adding 10-20 drops of Lemon, Orange or Grapefruit oil to your mop water will help to remove grease and dirt as well as lift your mood.

After someone has been ill, clean the room with Rosemary oil diluted in warm water or a strong Rosemary infusion to disinfect surfaces and the air.

Plants such as the Heart Leafed Philodendron, the Spider Plant and the Ficus help to clear formaldehyde from the air. To reduce benzene fill you house with Pothos and English Ivy. The Peace Lily and Dracaena reduce TCE (trichloroethylene). It has also been discovered that the Peruvian Cactus (Cerus uruguayanus) reduces electromagnetic pollution and is now being grown in the New York Stock Exchange building for this reason.

Infusions of Mugwort have been used in Europe for centuries to cleanse rooms and objects of negative energies, much like smudging with Sage.
