Rainshow?r chlorine filtration was developed by George Ricci in 1988 and was the first to use KDF technology. KDF utilizes small metal particles (50% copper and 50% zinc) to create a galvanic charge that causes free chlorine particles to recombine with metal ions forming zinc chloride. This is then flushed safely from the filter. Crystalline quartz further enhances the effects of the filter by reducing the size of the molecular clusters in the water to enhance lathering. The KDF systems have also been shown to reduce bacterial and fungal growth. In addition to the over-all health benefits, using a chlorine filter can help to improve dull, dry skin and hair and reduce fading of color treated hair. |
